About El Fornet - Pau Claris 190

When I introduce people to El Fornet - Pau Claris 190, I usually describe it as one of those coffee spots that instantly fits into your day without trying too hard. Located at Carrer de Pau Claris, 190 in the heart of Eixample, this coffee shop has that familiar, welcoming energy that works whether you’re popping in between errands or settling down for a slower moment. The vibe leans casual and relaxed, making it easy to walk in for a quick bite or stay a little longer with a cup of coffee and some quiet time. I like how the space feels approachable, not rushed, yet efficient enough for people on the go. Service options like dine-in, takeaway, and delivery make it flexible, which is exactly what you want from a neighborhood café in a busy part of Barcelona. The menu keeps things simple and practical, focusing on everyday offerings that actually make sense for a coffee shop. Coffee is clearly a central player here, but it’s not limited to that alone. You’ll also find quick bites that work well for breakfast, a light lunch, or a mid-afternoon pause. For those who enjoy a more relaxed stop later in the day, the availability of beer and other alcohol adds another layer to the experience. What stands out most to me is how naturally El Fornet - Pau Claris 190 blends into the rhythm of the area. It feels equally suitable for locals who know exactly what they want and visitors who are still getting a feel for the neighborhood. The atmosphere encourages conversation without being noisy, and it also works if you just want to sit quietly with your drink. Everything about the place feels straightforward and confident, from the service to the setting, which makes it easy to recommend to anyone looking for a dependable coffee shop experience in Eixample that doesn’t overcomplicate things but still delivers comfort, convenience, and consistency.

What I love the most is the staff there. They are smiling, welcoming and efficient. It's not always the case in Barcelona. Prices are really good. For 12€ I had 5 items, whereas in the 3 typical gentrified places next door, that would get you an avocado toast only. The food was good too. The place was quiet and tidy. Vegan options available (plant based milk, toastada de tomate, etc.) I'd like to thank the staff who are really, really great at their job :-)

A nice spot with comfortable table and chairs to eat in and also has a takeaway option. The atmosphere is a bit more functional than other places we went but the food was OK. High points were the fresh squeezed orange juice and the coffee was good. They do mini croissants with a variety of icing and fillings that are delicious and a very nice takeaway wrap. Some of the staff were friendly but one or two were a bit grumpy. Overall good but not the best

The place is cute and clean. Love the big windows. It is super pretty in picture. I can't remember the name of the pastries that I ordered, but it is delicious. My caramel iced coffee came weirdly a bit granular? Like I am a bit confused but taste wise it is okay.

Great option for a quick breakfast. Their king breakfast is only 12 euro and it comes with a fresh orange juice, a coffee (I had latte), a sandwich, a small pastry and a choice of fruit or yogurt.

Very pleasant bakery and café with a nice atmosphere. There is a good joice of hot beverages , pastries and sandwiches and I had a perfect little breakfast to start my Barcelona day. The self-service staff is friendly and well organized. Also a good place to sit and watch the street through the big windows for a moment.
